Privacy policy
How Arts du Paysage collects, uses, protects and keeps your personal information.
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Your trust matters to us. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect when you visit this website or contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. It follows Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and, for people in Ontario, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Who is responsible for your information
The "Arts du Paysage" website is operated by Art de Pelouse (9543-0641 Québec Inc.), doing business as Arts du Paysage, in Gatineau, Quebec.
The person responsible for the protection of personal information is Bertrand, founder. For any question or request, write to us at artsdupaysage@gmail.com or call us at 819 665-8202.
2. The information we collect
We only collect the information we need, and most of the time you are the one who gives it to us:
- Visit or quote requests (website forms): your name, phone number, email, area, address (optional), the service you want and a description of your project.
- Job applications (Careers pages): your name, phone, email, availability, experience, study program or years of experience, and any message you choose to add.
- Direct communications: the information you send us by phone, email or message on our social media.
- Job-related information: if you become a client, the job site address, before/after photos of the finished work and the information needed for billing.
- Technical browsing information: like any communication over the Internet, your visit automatically sends our technical providers (site hosting, fonts) information such as your IP address and the type of device or browser you use.
We do not collect any payment information through this website. Please do not enter sensitive information (health, identity numbers, banking details) in forms or free-text fields.
3. Why we use it
We use your information only to:
- respond to your request, schedule a visit and prepare your quote;
- carry out the work, communicate with you before, during and after the service, and invoice you;
- assess your application, if you apply for a job;
- keep the website secure and working properly;
- meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not send you newsletters or advertising you did not ask for. If we invite you, after a service, to leave a Google review, it is a simple request: it is optional and has no effect on the price.
4. Your consent
By submitting a form or writing to us, you consent to our using your information for the purposes described above. This consent is voluntary: you can withdraw it at any time by writing to us (see section 9), subject to legal or contractual obligations that require us to keep certain information.
5. Who we share it with
Your information is accessible only to the people who need it to do their work, and to our service providers:
- Members of our team (employees, technicians) who need to know your name, address and phone number to come to your home and carry out the service;
- Partners or subcontractors who carry out part of the work, only for the information needed for that work;
- Google: requests sent through the forms are saved in a Google spreadsheet (Google Sheets, through a Google Apps Script) and we receive notifications by Gmail. The website also uses Google Fonts, which sends your IP address to Google when pages are displayed;
- Our hosting provider, which delivers the website's pages;
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
This website contains links to our Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages. Once you are on those platforms, your information is governed by their own privacy policies, over which we have no control.
6. Transfers outside Quebec
Some of our providers (notably Google and our hosting provider) may store or process information on servers located outside Quebec, including elsewhere in Canada, in the United States or in other countries. In that case, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We choose recognized providers and limit the information sent to what is necessary.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected:
- quote requests that do not lead to work are kept for a reasonable period, then destroyed or anonymized;
- client and billing records are kept for the periods required by tax and accounting laws (generally six years);
- job applications are kept for a maximum of twelve months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
When information is no longer needed, we securely destroy it or anonymize it.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information: access limited to the people who need it, password-protected accounts, and forms sent over a secure connection. No system is foolproof, however. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as the law requires, and we keep a register of such incidents.
9. Your rights
You may at any time:
- find out whether we hold information about you and access it;
- ask for inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information to be corrected;
- withdraw your consent to the use or disclosure of your information;
- ask for your information to be deleted or for its dissemination to stop, where the law allows;
- obtain a copy of your information in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability).
To exercise these rights, write to the person responsible (section 1). We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we will respond within 30 days of receiving your request.
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or, if you live in Ontario or elsewhere in Canada, with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
At present, this website uses no tracking, audience-measurement or advertising cookies. It only remembers, in your browser, the choice you make in the consent banner, so that it does not show it to you again. If we ever add an audience-measurement tool, we will do so only with your consent and will update this policy. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
11. Children and teenagers
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from people under 14 without the consent of the person with parental authority. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy to reflect our practices or the law. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. If there is an important change, we will make it clearly visible on the website.
